JAMMU MAY 03:– A meeting of Project Approval Board constituted for the Plan approvals of the *Samagra Shiksha, held under the chairmanship of Sanjay Kumar, IAS Secretary to Govt. DoSEL, MoE, GoI (Chairman of the PAB)*.The meeting of Samagra Shiksha, for Plan Approvals, of 2023-24, was held through Virtual mode and was attended by the *Principal Secretary, School Education Department Alok Kumar*, Joint Secretaries of DoSEL Mrs. Srija (Economic Advisor), Vipan Kumar (JS), Director Finance Mr. Shobit, team of MoE and officers from J&K administration viz a Viz Director SCERT, Prakshit Manhas, Project Director Samagra Shiksha Deep Raj, Director School Education Jammu Ashok Sharma, Director School Education Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain , Special Secretary Kanta Devi, Joint Director Planning Parshotam Kumar, Deputy Director Planning Bilal Rashid, CAO, SmS Abhishek Talwaria, Field Advisor, Jagdeep Padha, Ravinder Singh DD Planning, besides other Coordinators/stakeholders.
Principal Secretary, SED,J&K welcomed all the participants and Project Director Deep Raj, gave a detailed presentation on the Physical & financial Progress of last year and placed the proposals for this year. During the meeting, Secretary to Govt. DoSEL, complimented the UT for increase in Gross Enrolment Ratio, at Secondary/Sr. Secondary level from the last 3 years and asked the UT to bridge the infrastructure Gaps at various levels, so that the Quality education may be provided to the Students. While interacting with the Media, *Pr. Secy SED Alok kumar said that, UT has improved in the last 2-3 years and for the year 2023-24
it is the largest budget which has been recommended in the PAB for various interventions since 2018-19. He further said that, UT Govt. and Govt. of India, are putting all efforts in making a robust education system, where the students of the Govt. Schools are competing now with the Students of the Private Schools. Civil Works, Strengthening of Infrastructure Vocational Education, Digital Initiates and Innovations captured the maximum share of the Budget, besides good chunk has been recommended for the Gender & Equity, he informed. He informed that, the *Establishment of school education excellence hub shall be constructed this year with financial implication of Rs. 8.70 Crores*, which shall house the Vidya Samiksha Kendar, along with Innovation centre & Auditorium, to be used for implementation of Samagra Shiksha Interventions, which shall act as Resource centre & unique in nature. He also said that, *more than 700 Addl. Class rooms and 450 Toilets (Boys/Girls/CWSN), besides more than 1800 Unit of works (Dilapidated Buildings, Library rooms, Computer Rooms, HM rooms etc) shall be taken up in the year 2023-24. He further said that, 3 no’s of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyalaya (Hostels) with (capacity 100)* shall be constructed with financial implication of Rs. 10.50 Crores. 36680 Meter Boundary wall shall be constructed in Schools for the safety & security of Students and 52 Teacher Quarters for the teachers working in far flung areas shall be taken up in hand, he informed. Under innovation, Open Gyms shall be established in 188 Schools (one in each Zone), besides the Security & Safety equipments, Trainings for Teachers, Trainings for Girls, establishment of Innovation Labs, ICT labs, Vocational Labs shall be the part of the interventions. He said that, emphasis has been laid on saturation of Schools with regard to availability of adequate infrastructure to the Students, so that every Student may feel himself/herself at par with the Private Schools and stressed for the enhancement of the learning outcomes, using technology to empower students and children.
