Rajouri April 05 :–-Rajouri police have initiated Investigation in an alleged suspicious death of a girl student of Government Post Graduate (PG) College, Rajouri who was found hanging with a ceiling fan in her rented room in the morning today.
The girl (name withheld) was a resident of Sialsui in Kalakot tehsil and was the student of 5th semester of BSc Medical.
The deceased and her elder sister were living in a hired room in PG College”s vicinity in Kheora area of Rajouri town.
According to Sameer Jillani, SHO, Rajouri, the police received a call at about 11.30 am today from the owner of the house about the hanging of the girl.
“The owner of the house after receiving a phone call from the deceased’s sister that she (deceased) is not responding to her repeated phone calls opened the door of her room, and found her hanging with the ceiling fan and informed the police” said SHO.
A police party headed by SHO rushed to the spot and after the legal formalities brought the body to district hospital (GMC) for an autopsy.
The police also informed the family members about the death of the girl and they reached the hospital & completed the legal formalities.
During a search of the room, the police didn’t find any suicide note. After medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for her last rites.
The Police have started an investigation to ascertain the cause of the death.
Ranjeet Singh, the father of the deceased, who is a serving soldier, has alleged foul play (murder) behind her death and demanded a fair and transparent investigation.
He denied any domestic problem behind this extreme step and added on alternative Sunday one among his daughters used to visit the home.
“This Sunday my elder daughter had left for home and since yesterday was trying to contact her sister, but without any response” said the father.
“Inquest has been initiated under 174CrPC” said Sheema Nabi Qasba, SSP
