RAJOURI JAN, 04:-Strong resentment has erupted across Rajouri after a BJP leader allegedly made highly derogatory and shameful remarks against the sitting MLA from Rajouri, J&K, Mr. Iftkhar Ahmed, by referring to him as “Bandar Naach in a social media platform.” The comment has been widely condemned as disgraceful, abusive, and an affront to democratic norms.

The people of Rajouri have termed the remark not only an insult to an elected public representative but also a direct humiliation of the electorate who exercised their democratic right to elect Mr. Iftkhar Ahmed. Civil society members, political activists, and local residents have unanimously denounced the language, calling it a dangerous reflection of political intolerance.

Locals recalled that the same individual has, on previous occasions, attempted to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of Rajouri by issuing irresponsible and provocative statements. They emphasized that political differences are a part of democracy, but personal abuse and degrading language are unacceptable and unconstitutional.

“Disagreement must be expressed with dignity and within the framework of the Constitution. Such abusive remarks lower the standard of political discourse and threaten social harmony,” said residents.

The people of Rajouri have demanded immediate legal action against the concerned BJP leader under relevant sections of law. A written complaint, they said, will be formally submitted to the SSP Rajouri tomorrow.

Warning of escalating public anger, the people stated that if the authorities fail to act despite repeated provocations, they will be left with no option but to launch democratic protests on the streets to safeguard the dignity of their elected leader and maintain communal harmony.

“Rajouri has always stood for peace, mutual respect, and unity. Such shameful behavior will not be tolerated anymore,” the statement concluded.

The incident has once again raised serious questions about the deteriorating level of political discourse and the need for strict action to uphold democratic values and social peace in the region.
