DODA FEBRUARY 07:-The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) on Tuesday took its public outreach initiative ‘Baat Cheet’ to Doda, where a large and diverse gathering—particularly youth and women—voiced long-pending developmental aspirations and concerns of the region.

Addressing the gathering, PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said she was deeply moved by the clarity, courage, and conviction with which young boys and girls articulated their struggles, hopes, and dreams for the future.

“The voices of Doda’s youth carried both pain and hope. They are demanding what is rightfully theirs—divisional status, rail connectivity, construction of key tunnels, establishment of a Cluster University, a Doda Development Authority, and skill-based education to secure their future,” Mehbooba Mufti said.

She emphasized that development must go beyond selective centres and reach the most neglected and remote regions. “Development with dignity must reach the peripheries and every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir—not just the Centre,” she asserted.

Participants at the programme highlighted issues of isolation, lack of higher education infrastructure, unemployment, and inadequate connectivity, urging the leadership to amplify their demands at the policy level.

The Baat Cheet programme witnessed active participation from local residents, students, civil society members, and PDP workers, turning the event into an interactive platform for grassroots dialogue and democratic engagement.
The PDP leadership reiterated its commitment to raising the genuine issues of Chenab Valley and other marginalized regions, promising sustained political advocacy for inclusive and equitable development.
