PDP Rajouri Unit Pays Tributes to Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, Reiterates Commitment to His Political Vision

RAJOURI JAN, 07:-The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rajouri unit, on Wednesday observed the death anniversary of party founder, former Union Home Minister, and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, and reaffirmed its commitment to his political ideology and vision.

The programme was held under the chairmanship of senior PDP leader Abdul Qayoom Dar and was attended by former MLA Ch. Qammar Hussain, Anjum Mirza, District President Tazeem Dar, party spokesperson Guftar Chowdhary, General Secretary Youth Asif Kataria, Liaqat Chowdhary, Zonal President Rajouri Maqsood Khan, Zonal President Thannamandi Asif Bhat, Ishtiaq Bhat, Sanjeev Sayal, Rishi Kumar, Zubair Shah, Rashid Khan, Javid Mirza, Saleem, Naz Mughal, Qaleem Chowdhary, Liaqat Choudhary, and other party workers.
Addressing the gathering, PDP leaders described Mufti Muhammad Sayeed as a statesman who consistently stood for dignity, dialogue, and democratic rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They said his politics was rooted in reconciliation, healing, and bridging divides at a time when the region faced severe political and social challenges.

The speakers criticized the prevailing political atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s vision of inclusive governance, democratic empowerment, and respect for institutions is more relevant today than ever. They emphasized that the PDP remains committed to raising people’s issues and resisting policies that undermine constitutional rights and democratic values.

The programme concluded with prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul, followed by a collective pledge by party leaders and workers to carry forward the political legacy, principles, and vision of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed in letter and spirit.
