RAJOURI, JULY 23:–Pahari Tribe people from Budhal Assembly Segment in Rajouri district of J&K on Friday celebrated the victory of NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu in the Presidential election, at Dak Bungalow at Budhal.
Droupadi Murmu, a tribal politician from Odisha state, will be the 15th president of the Republic of India.
The 64-year-old Droupadi Murmu will take the oath of office on July 25, a day after President Ram Nath Kovind tenure ends.
She will be the second woman to hold the country’s highest office. Pratibha Patil was the first.
BJP leaders/activists, especially from Pahari Tribe, distributed sweets and celebrated the election of the first tribal woman as the President of India with full enthusiasm and gaiety.
It is pertinent to mention here that a large number of Pahari Tribe people from the Budhal region gathered at Dak Bungalow Budhal and celebrated the victory of Droupadi Murmu.
On this occasion State Spokesperson, BJP Youth wing J&K UT, Manzoor Naik said that this election is a testimony of the party recognising the merit and efficiency of its worker.
“For a woman from the tribal background to reach the post of the President is a golden moment for the country and a true victory of democracy,” said Manzoor Naik and added that Droupadi Murmu’s great ability and experience in administrative and social works will benefit the country immensely.
Senior Pahari Tribe leaders, including Nazir Sarpanch, Mohd Shabir Aflatoon (Sarpanch Rajnagar lower), Abdul Rasheed Shaheen (Member Kissan Advisory Board), Mohd Iqbal Thakker, Mohd Nazir Thakker, Manzoor Malik (Naib Sarpanch, Kewal), Mohd Amin, Naseeb Mohd, Mohabbat Malik (Dist Secretary BJP Minority Morcha), Suresh Kumar (Panch Rajnagar), Liyaqat Hussain, Abdul Majeed, Mushtaq Ahmed, besides many others were present on this occasion.
