Out of 73 Ambulances 21 are off-road in the district.

Rajouri, March 22 :—In Rajouri district, there is one ambulance for 13460 souls. This came to the fore in a meeting of the District Health Society chaired by Vikas Kundal, District Development Commissioner (DDC) here at Rajouri on Tuesday to review the performance of the Health Sector in 2021-22.
While reviewing the status of Ambulances, DDC was informed that there are a total of 73 ambulances in the district out of which 52 are on-road and 21 are off-road (as per press briefing).
Estimated as per aadhar uidai.gov.in December 2020, Rajouri district population in 2022 is 693,586.
Officers who attended the meeting included CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CMO, Dr. Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; Dy CMO, Dr Anees Altaf Nabi; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn PDD Rajouri, Mohd Hasan; AD Planning, Mohd Rafi; BMOs and other concerned officers.
It was also informed that Rajouri district is at the 7th rank in terms of key performance indicators (KPIS).
The DDC asked the concerned officers to make dedicated efforts to further improve the ranking of the district.
The DDC was informed that 707703 patients visited OPDs, 48023 were provided treatment in IPDs, while 2948 major and 53917 minor surgeries were performed during the financial year 2021-22.
It was further informed that the district recorded 11451 institutional deliveries and 36540 X-Rays in the last financial year.
The DDC asked the CMO to educate the public about the benefits of the institutional deliveries through awareness camps.
For Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram( RBSK), DDC asked the concerned officers to give wide publicity to the program and organise special camps at different locations to cover maximum children under the program.
Reviewing the implementation of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP), the DDC stressed early detection and testing of the suspected patients to meet the basic objectives of the mission.
