POONCH NOV 14:-Malik Club Seri Chowana (A) emerged victorious in both the boys and girls categories at the Open District Kho-Kho Championship held in Poonch.
The Closing ceremony and prize distribution of the open district kho kho Championship for boys, girls, men and women was held at GHSS, SHEESH MAHAL POONCH.District Development Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal (IAS) was the chief guest and Manager of the sports stadium Poonch Nirdosh Sharma,as the guest of honour.
The event was organised by the district kho kho Association Poonch under the banner of the J&K Kho kho Association. Eleven teams participated in this two days Championship, with six teams in boys section and five teams in girls section.
During the ceremony,D C Poonch emphasized the importance of sports advising the players that sports are as essential as education .He encouraged them to stay away from drugs and other harmful habits, urging them to make sports a regular part of their lives.The Principal Shaheen Anjuman of the institution thanked the chief guest and the district kho kho Association for organizing such a successful event.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Gen.Secretary of the District kho kho Association Poonch Rasmeet Kour,Vice Principal of the school Kulbir Singh,Narjeet Singh Rtd .ZPEO, Narinder Singh ZPEO Poonch, Rajinder Singh ZPEO Nangali, Rajinder Singh Rtd.PEM,Ravinder Singh Gen.Secretary Athletic Association Poonch, Rajinder Singh Toofan.
Vijay Kumar an excellent anchor of District Poonch also present on the event.
The event was conducted under the supervised of organising secretary Rajinder Singh,ensuring its smooth execution. The District body of the Association thanks the department of Youth Services and sports for support.The matches were conducted under the technical panel including Varinder Kumar,Ghulam Abass,Israr Ahmed,Ajaz Ahmed Malik,Mukhtar Ahmed, Narinder Singh and Mohd. Manzoor Ahmed lone.
