RAJOURI AUGUST 13:-Ahead of Independence Day celebrations, the Army has trapped a group of fcchx chal fcchx fcchx fc tc fcchx2-3 terrorists in Akar Forest near Patnitop in Udhampur district in the late evening hours on Tuesday (August 13).
An initial detail about ‘Op ASSAR’ shared by White Knight Corps on social media’s X handle read: “ Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by the Indian Army and JKAP was launched in Akar Forest near Patnitop. Contact has been established with the terrorists and operations are in progress”.
Sources said that the search and destroy operation was launched by the Army & JKAP in the morning hours on Tuesday after specific intelligence inputs about the presence of a group of terrorists in the forest range near Patnitop.
In the late evening hours on Tuesday contact was established with the hiding terrorists in this area which was followed by exchange of heavy fire for some time.
As the terrorists are trapped in the Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) launched by the SFs, the troops are expected to intensify the operation further by morning.
Earlier this week, a brief encounter between the troops and the terrorists had broken out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur area between the security forces and the terrorists. Security forces engaged in a brief gunfight with Jaish-linked terrorists during a search operation in Udhampur’s Basantgarh area.
