==Constitution (128-amendment) Bill-2023 reserves 33% seats for women in Assemblies.

RAJOURI SEPT 09:–On the last day of the withdrawal of nomination papers for the second phase of the upcoming J&K Assembly Elections-2024 in 5 Assembly Constituencies of Rajouri district 34 candidates, including only one woman candidate left in the final fray after 5 candidates withdrew their names.
Despite tall claims, none of the national or state political parties has offered candidature for any woman.
According to the final list of contesting candidates one Printy Devi wife of Suresh Singh has filed her nomination papers for newly carved 83-Kalakote-Sunderbani Assembly Constituency.
Nodal Officer District Election Control Room, Sandeep Kumar informed that after the last date of withdrawal of nomination papers all the 11 candidates will contest the elections for 83-Kalakot-Sunderbani constituency.
The candidates include Swaran Kumar, Kabir Ahmed, Pankaj Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Pinky Devi (all independents), Randhir Singh (BJP), Yashu Vardhan, Ashok Kumar (DPAP), Rakesh Kumar (Shiv Sena-UBT), Arun Kumar (JK Apni party), & Majid Hussain (JK PDP).
For 84- Nowshera Assembly Constituency, 5 candidates are in fray. No candidate withdraws his name. The candidate includes Ravinder Kumar Sharma (BJP), Haq Nawaz (JK PDP), Dr Manohar Singh (BSP), Shiv Dev Sharma (Independent) & Surinder Kumar (JK NC).
From 85-Rajouri constituency four candidates have withdrawn their names and in the final fray 8 candidates are left.
These candidates include Hemakant, Mian Mohd Mehfooz, Mohd Arif (all independent), Tasadiq Hussain (JK PDP), Iftikhar Ahmed (INC), Vibodh Kumar (BJP), Rafaqat Azad (Azad Samaj Party), Manzoor Hussain (JK Apni party).
For 86-Budhal Assembly Constituency, one candidate withdrew his name on the last day and now 4 candidates are in the fray.
The candidates include Guftar Ahmed (JK PDP), Ch Zulfikar Ali (BJP), Javaid Iqbal (JK NC) & Abdul Rashid (BSP).
For newly carved 87-Thanamandi Assembly Constituency no candidate has withdrawn his name and for the final contest 6 candidates are in the fray.
They include Askhtar Ali Ahmed, Muzaffar Khan (both independents), CH Qamar Hussain (JK PDP), Irfan Anjum (JKAP), Mohd Iqbal Malik (BJP) and Mohd Shabir Khan (INC).
