JAMMU JAN, 09:-President of the Baramulla Sports Association, Omar Kakroo, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Jammu and Kashmir Under-16 cricket team for their शानदार victory in the prestigious Vijay Merchant Trophy 2025, calling it a proud moment for the entire Union Territory.
On behalf of the Baramulla Sports Association, Kakroo congratulated all the players, coaches, and support staff for their remarkable achievement, stating that the win is a clear reflection of the team’s hard work, discipline, and dedication.
“The victory is a testament to the growing cricketing talent in Jammu and Kashmir and will serve as a major inspiration for young and aspiring cricketers across the region,” Kakroo said.
The celebratory day began with a special breakfast meet at the residence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, where the victorious team was appreciated and felicitated. The Chief Minister also presented a token of love to the players, wishing them continued success in their future endeavours.
Later, the team was felicitated in Jammu by Brigadier Anil Gupta, CEO, Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), in the presence of parents, guardians, sub-committee members, and representatives of various cricket clubs.
Kakroo also lauded the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association for its consistent efforts in promoting cricket and nurturing talent in the region, stating that this historic win would significantly boost the morale of budding cricketers.
He particularly highlighted the contribution of Muzaffar Mattoo of Baramulla, the team’s coach, describing him as a “son of the soil” whose guidance and leadership played a pivotal role in the team’s success.
“May this victory open new doors of opportunity and bring many more laurels to Jammu and Kashmir cricket,” Kakroo added.
