JAMMU JAN, 08:-Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed serious concern over the closure of a well-established medical college following protests, saying that while some sections may be celebrating the development, it raises disturbing questions about responsibility and governance.

Speaking to the media, Omar Abdullah said that across the country people struggle for years to get a medical college sanctioned, whereas in Jammu and Kashmir an existing institution was shut down due to protests. “This is not something to celebrate. Serious questions need to be asked,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister made it clear that he is open to scrutiny and questioning but stressed that accountability must be fixed at the appropriate level. “Responsibility has to be identified and pinned where it actually lies,” he said.

Omar Abdullah also underlined that the Health Minister is on the same page with him on the issue and assured that the matter will be taken up at the right forums to ensure accountability. He reiterated that such decisions have long-term implications for students, healthcare infrastructure, and public interest, and cannot be treated casually.
