RAJOURI DEC 20:-The traffic police have launched a strict campaign to curb drunk driving, signaling a no-tolerance policy for offenders. Under the leadership of DSP Traffic Shiv Kumar and DTI Inspector Manzoor Kohli, the initiative began with a rigorous check of over twenty drivers on the first day.
Following numerous complaints about drivers consuming alcohol and endangering lives in the evenings, the traffic police set up a special check post near Salani Bridge to monitor passing vehicles. To their credit, no drivers were found under the influence of alcohol during the checks.
Speaking on the initiative, DSP Shiv Kumar and DTI Inspector Kohli emphasized that this is just the beginning. “On the first day, we checked over twenty drivers and found no one driving under the influence. However, this campaign will continue rigorously,” they stated.
The officers warned that anyone caught driving under the influence would face severe consequences. These include hefty fines, vehicle confiscation, and recommendations for the cancellation of the offender’s driving license.
This campaign demonstrates the traffic police’s commitment to ensuring road safety and deterring irresponsible behavior on highways.
