RAJOURI, JANUARY 22 :-‘District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, IAS has ordered to detect one day salary of all the 19 BDOs of the district for their carelessness towards legitimate duties (non-implementation of government’s order for Biometric attendance system/equipment) and directed to deposit the amount in the account of Red Cross Society.
The DDC’s order No: 22-DDCR of 2023/ 20-1-23) read: “Before taking any disciplinary action, the Block Development Officers are directed to explain their positions for violation of the government instructions within two days positively”.
There are 19 blocks in the Rajouri district namely Budhal, Darhal, Thanamandi, Kalakot, Khawas, Rajouri, Planger, Doongi, Dhangri, Manjakot, Rajnagar, Moughla, Panjgrain, Sunderbani, Qila Darhal. Siot, Nowshera,Lamberi, and Seri.
Under the government order, No: 650-JK(GAD)of 2022 dated 2/6/2022instructions were issued to all the government offices/PSUs/Institutions/Corporations across the UT of J&K to switch over to the Biometric attendance system (Adhaar or fingerprint-based) with immediate effect & all employees were directed to necessarily mark their attendance both at arrival and departure as per the notified office hours.
“In order to ensure punctuality towards duties, this office has also been issued instructions to all the district/sectoral officers to ensure the installation of Biometric Attendance Systems/Equipments in all offices/institutions by or before June 2022 and all the DDOs were also directed to draw salaries of the employees only on the basis of satisfactory Biometric attendance” read DDC order.
Besides these clear & elaborate instructions on the subject, it has been observed that some BDOs have not compiled to the aforementioned instructions which shows their carelessness towards legitimate duties” DDC order said.
