SRINAGAR AUGUST 26:– National Conference (NC) and Congress have finalized a seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir, announced the leader, of Congress—National Conference, here on Monday.
“Out of the total 90 seats, NC will contest 51, while Congress will field candidates in 32 constituencies. Additionally, the two parties have agreed on a “friendly contest” in five constituencies. The arrangement also includes one seat each for the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI (M)] and the Panthers Party,” the NC—Congress leaders said here while addressing the press at his residence in Srinagar, as per News Vibes of India (NVI).
Notably, senior leaders of NC and Congress were present at the residence of Farooq Abdullah when this was announced after a brief day-long meeting.—(NVI)
