Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan; Huge Quantity Of Illicit Liquor Recovered; Bootlegger Arested

UDHAMPUR SEPTEMBER 08:–As a part of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan launched by Central Government and intensifying the drive against drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling, police naka party of PP Ghordi while performing naka duty at Ghordi near Jhansi Bowl led by PSI Rythm Sharma and assisted by SHO PS Ramnagar Insp. Pushpinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Dr. Bhishm Dubey.

During checking of vehicles and pedestrian, Police party stopped one vehicle bearing registration no. JK02CR 8076 for checking, which was on the way from Udhampur towards Ghordi. On frisking and checking of the driver as well as the said vehicle, 300 bottles of Desi Special Whisky were recovered from the possession of bootlegger. On enquiry, the bootlegger disclosed his name as Gulam Abbas S/O Mohd. Sharif resident of Nagrota Jagti, who was arrested on spot and 300 bottles of illicit liquor were also seized.

In this connection, a Case FIR No. 120/2022 U/S 48(a) Excise Act was registered in PS Ramnagar and investigation of the case is going on.
