Narcotics substance recovered in Rajouri, woman among three arrested

Rajouri January 25:–Under efforts to check peddling of narcotic substances, the Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri arrested three person including a woman recovering consignment of Heroine like substance from their possession.

Police said that on Tuesday, a team of police station Rajouri headed by SHO Fareed Ahmed was on routine naka checking duty at Chapriyan when a motorcycle JK11E 5127 was intercepted which was moving towards Khandli bridge road.

In the presence of Deputy SP HQ Vinod Sharma, a thorough search of trio was conducted during which a consignment of 15 grams of Heroine like substance was recovered from their possession.

Trio identified as Haroon Rashid son of Abdul Rashid resident of ward 2 Rajouri, Parveen Akhter wife of Haroon Rashid resident of ward 2 Rajouri and Azmat Shah son of Naer Hussain Shah resident of Kotedhara Rajouri were arrested.

A case in FIR 36/22 under section 8(a)/21/29 of NDPS Act has been registered in police station Rajouri and further investigation is going on.

Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammad Aslam said that unearthing narcotics peddling racket and checking the peddling is a priority of police for which necessary measures have been taken but for action against peddlers and preventive approach.

He appealed parents and guardians to keep a close eye on their wards as surveillance of family is must for preventing any youth from falling in the trap of narcotics addiction.
