UDHAMPUR MAR 20:-Inter district narco smuggler absconding for 2 years arrested by District Police Udhampur through backward link analysis
Udhampur Police, successfully apprehended an absconder and accused involved in Case FIR No. 590/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act, involving seizure of 65 kgs poppy straw.
The arrested individual, Ranjit Singh, son of Gurdeep Singh, (47)years old resident of Bhattiyan, Ludhiana, Punjab, was identified as the actual driver of the offending vehicle. He had fled from the spot at the time of the incident and had been evading arrest since 2023.
A special police team from Police station Udhampur was constituted to conduct investigations in Ludhiana, Punjab. During the course of the investigation, a backlink was established, confirming his involvement in the case. Based on witness statements and technical evidence, it was ascertained that Ranjit Singh was an accused in the case and had links to the drug network.
After persistent efforts, the accused was successfully traced and apprehended. He has been produced before the court of law for further legal proceedings.
