JAMMU, JANUARY 25 :– Apni Party Provincial President Women Wing Namrta Sharma has lauded the Lt Governor Manoj Singh for approval to enhance women in non-gazetted posts in Jammu and Kashmir Police.
In a statement issued here today for the press, Namrta said that it is an appreciable step taken by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha in which the Govt has approved 15 percent reservation for women in non-gazetted posts in J&K Police.
“We are glad that LG J&K has shown determination and commitment to increase it further in the future,” Namrta said.
Namrta said that “I welcome the first step of LG. However, we expect that the women will further be empowered educationally and by providing them government jobs in every Govt department.”
Meanwhile, Namrta also demanded that the Govt must enhance the reservation quota at par with the population of the women in J&K.
Namrta said that the women were neglected in various fields though many have proven their metal with hard work in all fields including defence and police.
“However, there is dire need on the part of the Govt to look into the growing concerns of the women in service matters by enhancing their reservation which would provide them opportunity for social and economic upliftment,” said Namrta
Namrta said “We need to empower the women so that every family in J&K and encourage professional education among the girls.”
Namrta further urged the Govt to constitute a team of officials composed of woman officers, educationist, social activist and politicians so that suggestions can be taken from them with regard to the empowerment of the women in J&K.
