SOPORE MAY 25:—The Workshop on Agriclinic and Agri Business Centre (ACABC was held on 25th May 2022 with the theme of “Aatma Nirbhartha” in focusing the self-employment mind set up for the agriculture Pass outs and Graduates of the Campus. The programme was inaugurated by Dean faculty SKAUST Wadura Dr. Rehana Habib who was chief Guest on the Occasion. The Program was attended by District Officers of District Baramulla which includes Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla, District Horticulture Officer Baramulla, Lead District manager Baramulla and Director RSETI Baramulla. The programme was organized by the DDM NABARD Mr Zubair Wasil for the Students and Faculty of the SKAUST Wadura Campus.
DDM NABARD in his keynote address highlighted the emphasis of NABARD on the revival of the agriculture sector and underscored the importance of the agriculture sector in taking forward the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Talking with the forum, DDM NABARD gave an overview of the ACABC scheme and the benfits for establishing the ACABC units at ground level. There is Govt Subsidy of 44% to Hilly districts from the GOI and subsidy will be released by the NABARD which is a Back ended Subsidy. He stressed on the need to focus on their marketing facility and increase of their income then the Agriculture sector will flourish and new members will add in this sector and people will consider a full-time job in the morale of the artisans in working further for the betterment of the carpet industry. He thanks other officers who were present on the occasion this sector again. Agriculture Sector is one of the key ingredients of J&K GSDP and contributes 57% to our GSDP. The departments and the agriculture Universities in J&K UT need to work for the betterment of the artisans and provide them with multiple market channels so that more income will be added to the pocket of the artisan.
Chief Guest Dr Rehana congratulate the NABARD on the conduct of the ACABC workshop at SKAUST Wadura Campus with the students and Faculty and suggests that such programs in future will provide the way forward to the students and they will also work for the betterment of the Agriculture Sector.
There was presentation by the National training institute from MANAGE who gave the overview of ACABC and how the NTI is providing the training to the students who get enrolled for the program.
The main event was concluded with a vote of thanks from the Dr Imtiyaz and he thanks the DDM NABARD and Dean Faculty Wadura Campus to be the Chief Guest of the occasion and boost the students to come forward for such programs.
