SRINAGAR JAN, 09:-Muneer Ahmad Ganai, a respected sports leader, social activist, and endurance athlete from Jammu & Kashmir, continues to inspire youth through his unwavering commitment to fitness, discipline, and social responsibility. He currently serves as Head of the Sports Department and Accountant of the State Body at the International Human Rights Organization (IHRO), J&K Chapter.
An MBA in Finance, Ganai brings a strong professional background shaped by experience with leading organizations such as Bharti Airtel, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Spanco BPO Services Ltd., and Paytm. Blending corporate expertise with social service, he actively designs and supports community-driven initiatives focused on youth empowerment and public welfare.
For over four years, Ganai has worked with IHRO across sectors including environment, agriculture, tourism, medical & wellness, art & culture, and handicrafts. His notable initiative, the “Run for Drug-Free Society” awareness program in Ratnipora, Pulwama, used sports as a tool to motivate young people to reject substance abuse and embrace healthy living.
A passionate athlete, marathon runner, cyclist, and trekker, Muneer Ahmad Ganai has represented Jammu & Kashmir in multiple national endurance events. In 2025 alone, he earned nearly 20 sports awards, including major marathon and cycling finishes, reflecting excellence, resilience, and consistency.
His contributions were formally recognized in 2025 when he was awarded by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of UT Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, along with honours from IHRO and sports bodies.
