Minister Javed Rana Visits Media Office in Poonch ,Alsointeracted with members of the editorial team

POONCH JANUARY 25:-Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, on Saturday visited the office of a local media organisation in Poonch, accompanied by several local citizens.

During the visit, the Minister interacted with members of the editorial team and held discussions on the role of the media in a democratic society, with particular emphasis on responsible, ethical and issue-based journalism.

The Minister noted the importance of media institutions in highlighting public concerns, developmental challenges and regional aspirations, especially in geographically and socially sensitive areas such as the Pir Panjal region.

He observed that inclusive and people-centric reporting can help bring greater balance and representation to public discourse.

Emphasising the constitutional role of the press, Rana underscored the need for objectivity, factual accuracy and ethical standards in reporting social, economic and developmental matters.

He stated that evidence-based journalism is essential for strengthening democratic institutions and maintaining public trust.

The Minister also called upon media professionals to promote scientific temper, constitutional values and social harmony, while cautioning against misinformation and divisive narratives that can undermine social cohesion.

He reiterated that the media has a significant responsibility in enhancing public awareness, ensuring accountability and facilitating constructive civic dialogue, particularly in developing and border regions.
