JAMMU MAY 28:-– A Message from 325 Families to Omar Abdullah Chief Minister of J&K UT and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha J&K UT As delay in Appointment of District and Block Resource Persons — Hundreds of Aspirants Losing Hope.
The recruitment process for District and Block-level Resource Persons under the Swachh Bharat Mission – Grameen (SBM-G) in Jammu & Kashmir was completed several months ago. However, it is disheartening to state that the final selection list has not yet been made public.
This recruitment began in October 2023. Aspirants appeared for the written examination in March 2024, and interviews were conducted in August 2024. Despite the successful completion of all stages, candidates remain stuck in a state of uncertainty.
The future of 325 candidates and their families has been hanging in the balance for months, awaiting just one official decision.
The central government has extended the tenure of crucial missions like Swachh Bharat Mission and Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure timely completion of public welfare projects at the grassroots level. But how can these missions progress when the very people who are supposed to work on the ground haven’t even been appointed?
This delay in filling up these posts not only raises concerns about the future of the youth but also signals a closure of employment opportunities in the region.
We, the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, ask: when we chose Mr. Omar Abdullah as our Chief Minister, it was with the belief that he would be the voice of the youth. We trusted him, hoping he would listen to us, understand us, and work to solve our problems.
It wasn’t just a vote — it was the dream of a generation, a bond of trust. Today, with that same trust, we appeal to him to raise his voice on this issue, speak with the concerned authorities, and play his part in ensuring the immediate release of the selection list.
We also earnestly appeal to the Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Manoj Sinha, to take this issue seriously and act immediately to end this injustice.
This is not just about 325 candidates — it is about 325 families standing behind them, about their dreams, their hard work, and their right to employment.
We elected you so our voices could be heard — will you hear us today?
