Mega Health Camp at SDH Kupwara 49 surgeries performed on Day 1

KUPWARA MAY 12 :–Following the directions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole a Mega Health Camp is being organised from 11th may 2022 upto 18th may 2022 across 4 rotary districts of Kashmir division which include Baramulla, Kupwara, Sopore and Ganderbal.

In Mega Health Camp more than 8700 beneficiaries have been screened so far for various elective surgeries across all districts of Kashmir division which were deferred due to the current Covid 19 pandemic.The Health Camp is held in collaboration with Rotary Club India, an NGO.

During the Camp 49 Surgeries performed on the first Day of Mega Health Camp by non-local specialist doctors assisted by local medical and paramedics staff at Sub District Hospitals Kupwara

Out of 49 Surgeries, 24 cataract surgeries, 02 Ptyrigium, 09 BL Tuba ligation, 01 Laprascopic Cholicystection, 01 Hacmokidictiony, 04 BL Ligation, 04 lscs, 04 BL tube ligation etc

These surgeries will pick up the pace in the numbers in the coming days and will give a big relief to the people of the valley who were waiting for a long time in getting their treatment as the same was on hault due the covid 19 pandemic.

This Mega Camp is the first of its kind being held in Kashmir in which over three thousand Patients shall be operated free of cost with the help of administrative and Rotary.Apart from free treatment, the administration has made all arrangements for patients accompanying attendants regarding transportation, accommodation, medicine, food etc.

Earlier Director Health Dr Mushtaq Ah Rather,Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara , Khalid Jahangeer visited Sub District Hospital Kupwara where he kick started Mega Surgical Health Camp in presence of Chief Medical Officer Kupwara , Bashir Ah Teli , Medical Superintendent SDH, Ab Gani Dar and Nodel Officer Dr Aadil where present.

On the occasion the DC inspected the facilities made available for the patients and attendants there and was informed that Thousands of patients have been registered for various kinds of surgeries.

They also interacted with the patients, attendants and team of doctors and enquired about the facilities available for the patients.

Similarly, District Administrations Kupwara also took stock of arrangements and facilities for patients and Medical procedures at camp.
