Mass protest leave,government seek explanation from 33 Engineers of Rajouri/Poonch.

Rajouri March 26:–PWD (R&B) Department, UT of J&K has sought explanations from 33 Assistant Engineers (AEs) & Junior Engineers (JEs) posted in PWD(R&B) in Rajouri & Poonch district for going on mass protest leave after the suspension of a JE by DDC Rajouri.
Under Secretary to the Government, PWD (R&B) department vide his office order dated 26-3-2021 has directed all the engineers to explain their position within a week’s time.
After inspection of various works under PWD (R&B) Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC found that some of the works being carried out don’t qualify in terms of quality and time line fixed.
Junior Engineer Danish Sheikh , PWD Rajouri division was asked to improve the work efficiency & achieve the targets, but he failed to do so and was placed under suspension by the DDC vide his office order dated March 21.
In protest against the DDC order, 33 Engineers of PWD(R&B) Rajouri & Poonch district observed mass protest leave on March 22 which was conveyed to Chief Engineer, PWD(R&B) by the Superintending Engineer, Rajouri & Poonch circle vide his office letter dated March 23.
“You all have brought discredit to the service by your misdemeanor and have kept yourself absent from duties unauthorizedly which has been viewed seriously” read the order of Under Secretary.
“Your act of negligence and dereliction duties indicate that you all have failed to maintain absolute honesty and integrity in the discharge of official duty and has thus acted in a manner unbecoming of a public servant thereby violated the rules of J&K Government Employees Conduct Rules,1971” order further read.
“You all are directed to explain our position within a week’s time failing which it shall be presumed that there is nothing to say and disciplinary action as warranted under Service Conduct Rules ,shall be initiated against all of you” the order said.
