SRINAGAR NOVEMBER 13:–Maroof Khan, a prominent political activist, commends the progressive step taken by the Director General of Police J&K (DGP) R.R Swain IPS in fostering open communication between the public and law enforcement.
Maroof Khan commends R.R Swain, DGP, for his competitiveness, honesty, and dedication. Swain’s illustrious career, marked by numerous crucial postings, has consistently contributed to cultivating a police-friendly atmosphere wherever he has served.
During a recent interaction with influential members of the Kashmir community, spanning diverse sectors such as trade and industries, a consensus emerged that facilitating direct access for ordinary citizens to the DGP would significantly enhance the grievance redressal process. In response to this valuable suggestion, it has been decided that on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, citizens can meet with the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
To ensure accessibility, there will be no requirement for prior appointments during these dedicated hours. In the event that a pre-scheduled meeting becomes impractical due to unavoidable commitments, the public will receive advance notice through the official social media handles of the Police Headquarters (PHQ) Jammu and Kashmir. This preemptive communication aims to minimize any inconvenience to the citizens.
Maroof Khan acknowledges this initiative as a commendable effort towards fostering a more responsive and accountable law enforcement system. This citizen-centric approach is expected to strengthen the bond between the police force and the general public, fostering a safer and more collaborative society in the Kashmir Valley.
