RAJOURI MARCH 20:–The Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri district has worked out a case of theft involving iron rods (Saria) used in house construction work.
Police said that on 1st of January this year, a complaint was received from a person of Sakri in which it was informed that he had purchase Saria (iron rods) for construction of his house at Sakri and kept the same in a shed along road side and that in the intervening night of 23rd and 24th of December some unknown person stole about 08 quintal of Saria.
On this a case FIR No 01/2024 U/Ss 457/380 IPC was registered at police station Kandi and investigation was set into motion by a team under the supervision of SHO Kandi Shakeel Manhas.
During the course of investigation, police said, CCTV footage of different areas was analysed and a suspect was zeroed in who has been identified as Zulifkar Ali son of Samunder Khan resident of Swari.
During the course of questioning, the accused confessed for his involvement in this crime and on his disclosure 3.43 quintals of Saria valuing 22000 rupees has been recovered from Swari area and a vehicle Tata Mobile JK11C 9104 used in crime has also been seized.
Investigation and legal proceedings in the case are going on where as more recovery of stolen material is expected in days to come.
