LOW PERFORMING CONTRACTORS LIKELY TO FACE BLACKLISTING IN RAJOURI.

Rajouri March 18:–As per reports in the near future in Rajouri district low performing government contractors are likely to face the axe of blacklisting for their poor performance.
It has been observed that many developmental works being executed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Public Works Department (PWD) & the J&K Projects Construction Corporation Ltd have exceeded the timelines fixed by the executing agencies.

The main reason behind the long delay in executing the developmental works within fixed timelines was a casual approach of the contractors.
The authorities here at Rajouri also noticed that the contractors have not put proper men & machinery in the execution of the works resulting in unreasonable and unjustified breach of the awarded contracts.

The authorities also observed that due to poor performances on the part of the contractors, the progress of the works is held up and overall development in the district is not up to the satisfaction.

The matter came to light when Rajesh Kumar Shavan, District Development Commissioner (DDC) held recently a review meeting of the developmental works under execution in the district.

Taking the matter seriously, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC issued an order today and directed the concerned Executive Engineers, Superintendent Engineers to initiate the process of blacklisting of the contractors who have failed to execute the works in the stipulated period.

“The executing agencies shall forfeit the CDRs and notify the list of blacklisted contractors disqualifying them from future participation in the process of bids in the district for a period of minimum three years” DDC order reads.
