RAJOURI, MARCH 04:–For the last many years, the inhabitants of Rajouri town are facing a severe shortage of safe drinking water, especially during th e summer season, due to old water supply schemes which were not meeting the requirements of the town’s increased population.
After several representations from the general public in this regard, Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal directed Jal Shakti Department (JSD) officials to install a new bore well to mitigate the problem of water shortage in Rajouri town.
On the directions of District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, the Jal Shakti department on Saturday commissioned a new bore well, which will help in providing ample water supply to the residents of the town.
The commissioning of the bore well is a much-needed relief for the residents of the town who were facing severe water shortages for a long time.
The bore well will ensure that the town has a steady supply of clean drinking water, which is crucial for the health and well-being of the residents.
“The commissioning of the bore well is a significant milestone in our efforts to address the drinking water shortage problem in the town. We are committed to ensuring that the residents of the town have access to clean drinking water, and this bore well is a step in that direction” said Vikas Kundal, IAS.
“Newly commissioned borewell with a capacity of 60,000 gallons per day is completed at a cost of Rs 32 lacs and it will benefit approximately 3500 souls,” said Executive Engineer (Ex En), Jal Shakti, Ashwini Khajuria.“With the commissioning of the bore well, the department has taken a significant step towards fulfilling its commitment to providing clean drinking water to the residents of the town,” he added.
The Jal Shakti Department of Rajouri has been working tirelessly to address the water shortage problem in the town.
Ex En Ashwani Khajuria assured the residents that they will continue to work towards improving the water supply infrastructure in the town.
He urged the residents to use water judiciously and to report any leaks or wastage to the concerned authorities.
