JK Bank branch closed after two employees tested positive.

Rajouri /Kalakote March 31:-J&K Bank branch at Kalakot has been closed by the administration after its two employees were tested covid-19 positive today.
“After the employees were tested positive, contact tracing has also been started so that further spreading of the covidvirus can be contained,” said Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner (DC).
As per reports the samples of the employees were collected on March 26 for RT-PCR testing and were sent to Government medical College & Associated Hospital (GMC&AH) at Rajouri.
With four covid-19 cases detected in the Rajouri district today, the new infections took the number of active cases to 15, the highest in 2021.
“There is a need to put serious efforts and to chalk out an effective strategy to combat it, if there is rise in the COVID19 cases in the district. People were requested to remain isolated & to avoid unnecessary visits to the markets,” said Rajesh Shavan, DC.
On March 24, DC in a meeting of the concerned officers/officials had asked for reactivating the COVID-19 control room which would work 24X7 for dissemination of the Covid-related information.
Besides, he also directed for reactivating the Village Level Surveillance committees for the identification of the active cases in the rural areas and ensure hundred percent contact tracing.
The concerned officer from the Army was asked to ensure the collection of the samples of troops daily and submit the report in this regard.
“A sampling unit would be set up at the entrance of the DDC office complex for collecting the samples” said DC.
The first-ever Covid-19 positive case was detected on March 22 last year and since then 3895 people were tested positive out of which 3827 were recovered and 55 died due to coronavirus.
During the last seven days 12 persons have been tested positive and amid rising in the number of active cases across the country, it can’t be ruled out coming days would be crucial for the district administration if stringent necessary measures were not taken.
Several labourers from the district have left to work in other states and soon they will return for the cultivation season.
“Prepare a database of all those labourers who move out of the district so that no inconvenience could occur during their testing for Covid-19 when they return” said DC.
