Jammu’s Nazia Honoured for her Selection in Historic Indian Women’s Kho Kho Team.

JAMMU FEB 16:-DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma falicitated 21-year-old Nazia Bibi from Nagrota of Jammu district for becoming the first player from the state to be selected for the Indian Women’s Kho Kho team.

Nazia, who hails from a modest background and tribal community, will represent India at the World Cup.

DIG Sharma praised Nazia’s achievement, stating that she has become a role model for every girl, proving that women can excel in every field.

The felicitation ceremony, held on February 15, 2025, was attended by SP Rural Brijesh Sharma, SDPO Nagrota, and SHO Nagrota. Nazia was honoured with a memento, bouquet, and cash reward for her outstanding achievement.

DIG Sharma also appreciated Nazia’s father for his exemplary role in raising his daughter, despite facing difficulties. He emphasized the importance of encouraging girls to participate in sports and stay away from negative influences.
