JAMMU JAN 12:– In a significant step towards modernizing investigative processes, the Jammu and Kashmir Police organized a one-day workshop on digital tools, including e-Sakshya, e-Summons, and MedLEaPR.
The event, held at the Conference Hall, DPL Jammu, aimed to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in police investigations under new criminal laws.
Key Digital Tools Introduced like e-Sakshya which was Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), this tool assists police in recording evidence and managing crime scenes, ensuring secure storage and immediate accessibility for courts.
e-Summon: This platform facilitates electronic transmission of summons from courts to police stations and recipients, ensuring swift communication and accountability.
MedLEaPR: A web-based system designed to capture and securely report Medico Legal Reports (MLR) and Post Mortem Reports (PMR).
The training aimed to equip police officers with essential knowledge and skills for digital crime scene evidence management, efficient implementation of updated legal procedures, and streamlined evidence handling.
ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain-IPS, highlighted the significance of the workshop in modernizing investigative processes, emphasizing the critical role of continuous training in adapting to technological advancements. IGP Crime, Sunil Gupta-IPS, stressed the need for in-depth adoption of latest digital technologies, while DIG JSK Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma-IPS, underscored the importance of these apps in ensuring transparency in police investigations.
Over 250 police officers attended the workshop, reflecting the commitment of law enforcement agencies to embrace digital innovations and enhance operational efficiency.
