Irregularities alleged in construction of 2 roads, DS&EO conducts physical inspection.

RAJOURI, MARCH 29:—After complaints of irregularities being committed by the executing agencies in the construction work of two roads in Kalakot block in Rajouri district, a team headed by Sandeep Sharma, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer (DS&EO) conducted the physical inspection of the roads.
Sources said the team conducted the physical inspection of Mau to Rajliya and Pangote Wali road in the Sialsui area in Kalakot block on the direction of Vikas Kundal, District Development Commissioner (DDC).
Recently in a meeting of the members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), chaired by Vikas Kundal, the issue of irregularities in the construction work of the roads was raised by a DDC member from Dhangri.
“On the complaint of District Development Council (DDC) member, DDC Rajouri Vikas Kundal, has directed for physical inspection of roads namely, Mau to Rajliya road & the Pangote wali road in Sialsui, Kalakote block,” said DS&EO.
DS&EO informed that the team had already collected the basic data, which was to be examined. The team interacted with the locals, beneficiaries and PRIs to get Feedback in respect of the works executed by executing agencies in the Block.
“The inspecting team also examined whether the basic codal formalities like AA, Technical Sanction, e-tendering and all other parameters set for Physical verification were adhered to or not, besides examining the availability of budgetary support, DPR, tendered/allotted cost, and expenditure incurred etc.” he added.
Whether the irregularities were committed or not, it would be clear only after the detailed report by the DS&EO.
However, the DS&EO said that the exercise is being carried out and shall be expedited in the coming days, for bringing transparency, accountability and efficiency in government expenditure.
DDC member Kalakote, Surekha Kotwal, and other PRI members also accompanied the team during the physical verification of the projects.
