RAJOURI NOV 13:-In a significant move to foster national integration and expose students from border areas to the rich cultural heritage of India, Satish S. Khandare, IPS, SDG BSF Headquarters Chandigarh, along with Dinesh Kumar Boora, IG FTR HQ BSF Jammu, visited the Line of Control (LC) areas of Poonch and Rajouri. Their visit aimed at assessing the security situation and operational readiness of the Border Security Force (BSF) in these high-risk regions.
During the visit, the BSF Commander interacted with troops deployed along the LC, commending them for their dedication and challenging duties in maintaining national security. He emphasized the need for continued professionalism and high morale as they face future operational challenges.
Following this, the dignitaries arrived at the BSF campus in Rajouri, where they were warmly received by DIG BSF Rajouri, Chandra Mohan Singh Rawat. At the campus, Khandare flagged off the ‘Bharat Darshan Tour,’ a unique initiative aimed at providing exposure to 34 students (boys) from economically disadvantaged families in the border areas.
The 10-day tour, which commenced on November 13, 2024, will cover key destinations including Jammu, Amritsar, Delhi, Agra, and Lucknow, before returning to Rajouri on November 22, 2024. The initiative is designed to offer students a firsthand experience of India’s heritage, culture, and historical landmarks, helping them appreciate the unity in diversity that defines the country.
Satish S. Khandare in his address emphasized that the tour would not only enrich their knowledge about India’s vast cultural history but also expose them to the diverse traditions of the country. “This is a great opportunity for these students to enhance their understanding of the nation’s grandeur and heritage. It also plays an important role in building bridges of national integration,” he said.
He further highlighted the dual role of the BSF, stating that besides securing the borders, the force is actively engaged in programs like the Bharat Darshan Tour to foster unity and understanding among India’s diverse communities.
This initiative underscores the BSF’s commitment to strengthening both the physical and cultural security of the nation, helping bridge gaps between the people of border regions and the rest of India.
