POONCH MARCH 19:–With the aim of providing basic medical facilities to the people residing in remote area of village Pir Topa, Indian Army under the aegis of Head Quarter 13 Sector Rashtriya Rifles organised a free medical camp on 19 March 2024 at Pir Topa village.
Army doctors alongwith local civilian health workers from the village were present to assist the patients. The Medical Camp was organized to help the local populace in leading a normal and healthy life, which is otherwise challenging considering the terrain and weather conditions. Free health checkup & medicines were provided to the patients. Requisite consultation, vaccination and medicines were provided by Medical Officers for the people to help the invitees avail medical treatment benefits. Requisite consultation, vaccination and medicines were provided for a total strength of 154 (Four Health worker, 50 Female, 60 Males and 40 Children) from Pir Topa, Channawali and Tanda Cru, who availed medical treatment benefits. During this event food items were also distributed amongst children and locals.
Additionally, a lecture was also organized during this medical camp to spread awareness amongst the people in remote regions regarding various diseases and their symptoms alongwith pro – active measures to stem the tide and also emphasize on importance of good eating habits, balanced diet plan and maintaining personal hygiene and sanitation to increase happiness quotient amongst the gathering.
This gesture and effort by the Army was highly appreciated by the AWAM. This endeavor by the Army to reach out to the population residing in remote areas, where civil administration has limited accessibility, will go a long way in developing and strengthening trust between JAWAN and AWAM.
The event also served as a platform to strengthen the bond between Army and the people of this region. It showcased Army’s commitment towards service to the nation.
