RAJOURI, APRIL 17:--Setting an example of communal harmony & to foster peace and prosperity in the region, the Rashtriya Rifle unit of the Indian Army based at Samote in Rajouri district on Saturday hosted Iftaar for people to celebrate the holy month of Ramzan.
“The event was aimed at strengthening the already existing bond between the people from all communities, taking their views on peace, harmony, youth engagement, and development in the region, and ensuring that all the efforts of the administration and Awam are aligned towards mainstreaming of the society,” said a senior officer.
On this pious occasion, around 250 locals and prominent opinion makers, including State Govt officials, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Social Activists, Maulvies, and other Prominent civilians gathered to relish the Iftar.
The holy month of Ramzan is a time for Muslims to renew their focus and devotion to their religious beliefs and its practical application in daily life.
The speakers amongst the audience expressed their views and highlighted, communal harmony, peace, prosperity, development in the area, focus on education for the children, generating employment opportunities for the youth, and fight against the drug menace.
The event culminated with Iftaar for all invited guests as a gesture of gratitude and communal harmony.
Those who attended the Iftaar lauded the efforts of the Indian Army in organising such events which will go a long way in further cementing the already existing bond between different communities and fostering peace and harmony in the region.
They thanked the Indian Army for taking such noble initiatives for locals which will create a peaceful atmosphere in areas South of Pir Panjal Ranges.
The function organised by the Army is a step toward uniting different communities and spreading a message of communal harmony.
