SRINAGAR JAN 14:-The much-anticipated Z-Morh Tunnel was inaugurated at a grand event graced by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. The event witnessed the presence of several eminent dignitaries, including Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Other prominent figures included Shri Sunil Sharma, Leader of the Opposition; Shri Ghulam Ali Khatana, Member of Rajya Sabha; and a host of high-ranking administrative officials.
Tafazul Wani, Kashmir In-charge of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Welfare Society, was among the distinguished guests who attended the historic event.
The Z-Morh Tunnel, a strategic infrastructure project, will serve as a year-round connectivity link to the picturesque Sonamarg, significantly boosting the region’s tourism and economy while enhancing travel safety and reducing commute time.
Addressing the gathering, the Honorable Prime Minister highlighted the tunnel’s pivotal role in integrating remote regions with the rest of the country and emphasized the government’s commitment to the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha lauded the completion of the project, expressing confidence in its potential to usher in a new era of growth and prosperity for the people of Kashmir. Shri Nitin Gadkari elaborated on the technical advancements and sustainable practices incorporated into the construction of the tunnel, underscoring its importance in nation-building.
Tafazul Wani, representing the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Welfare Society, expressed gratitude for being part of this momentous occasion and reiterated the Society’s dedication to facilitating the welfare of pilgrims and locals alike.
The event marked yet another milestone in the Union Government’s commitment to transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a hub of modern infrastructure and economic progress.
