IGP Jammu Zone holds review meeting for crime, law & order of Rajouri district. Interacted with the civil society members

JAMMU,NOVEMBER, 08:- Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone, Anand Jain-IPS today reviewed the crime position and over all functioning of District Police Rajouri with all supervisory officers including SHOs, investigating officers at DPL Rajouri.IGP Jammu Zone Anand Jain,IPS was accompanied by DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range DR Haseeb Mugal ,IPS , received by SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh,IPS and his team of officers besides he was given a guard of honour at DPL Rajouri, on his arrival.

IGP Jammu interacted with Police officers/personnel and later chaired meeting with Police officers besides interacted with the civil society members of Rajouri district.

During meeting the disposal of cases registered during the current year and previous pendency was reviewed, discussed and instructions was also issued. The Investigating Officers and Supervisory officers were given detailed instructions to improve the quality of investigation to ensure effective Parvy and prosecution cases.

IGP Jammu directed the officers to augment measures for improving capability of personnel in dealing with Narco cases /UAPA cases. He impressed upon the officers that they need to contribute more by conducting supervisory meetings and by ensuring closer supervision of important cases, especially NDPS/UAPA cases to get better results for the remaining period of the year. He advised them to improve the quality of investigation and prosecution to increase the convictions.

IGP also directed the officers to work with enhanced synergy and coordinated efforts to uproot the narco-terrorism in the Range. He emphasized for regular interactions/briefing of the subordinates at different levels. He said that people’s cooperation in the fight against narco-terrorism and other crimes is must. He directed jurisdictional officers to seek people’s cooperation in the fight against drug abuse and other social crimes.

Dr Haseeb Mughal,IPS DIG RP Range briefed IGP Jammu Zone about the Law & order, crime and security scenario along with other initiatives being carried out by Police of twin districts of Pir Panjal Rajouri & Poonch. He also highlighted measures adopted to strengthen security grid and improve policing.

The SSP Rajouri gave an elaborate Power Point Presentation on the prevalent security scenario of the district and over all position of the crime and its disposal.

Moreover, IGP Jammu Anand Jain-IPS interacted with the civil society members made an appeal for maintenance of law/order in their respective areas. The people dwell at length about police related issues.Speaking on the occasion IGP Jammu emphasised that Youth should be encouraged to participate in sports and constructive activities; he added.
J&K Police has commenced various awareness/engagement programs to prevent the narcotics/drug menace from the society and special focus on the engagement of the youth by involving them in sports activities.

The participants in the meeting were very appreciative of the role of Police in the area and ensured to extend their support to Police in better performance of duties.
