POONCH JUNE 23:–An exhibition hockey match was organised by Sham Lal Hockey Club Poonch in collaboration with District Unit of the JKSC and Department of YSS Poonch
Match was played between Sham Lal Hockey Club Poonch and Khelo India Hockey Centre Poonch. SLHC won the match by 4-3 goals on the eve of Olympic Day at Sports Stadium Poonch.
SSP Poonch Vinay Kumar was the chief guest of this Match while Speaking on the occasion He said many players of District Poonch represented at national level tournament and soon players will also represent India in International tournaments . Col Jagdeep Singh Edu. Officer 93 Inf Brigade also motivated the players and assured his full support.
Chief guest quotes Sports plays a major role in all around development of youth. A special focuss should be given to sports and encourage youngsters to excel in sports, especially from grass root level. so that they can compete at the state level and later at the national level,”
He lauded management of the club and coaches efforts to promote the sport. He assured the players he will do whatever it takes to provide a platform to the players.
Chief guest also distributed Certificates to the players who participated in recently concluded 66th National School Games at Gwalior, MP.

Jagdeep Chadda Education Officer 93 Inf Brigade (Guest of Honour), Nirdosh Kumar IC Manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Narjeet Singh Retd ZPEO ( Special Guests), Daleep Luthra, Vijay Kumar PEM, Mohinder Bali Gen.Sec KB Poonch, Tanveer Dar, Pankaj Sharma, DK Raina, Harmik Singh (all PET),Perviaz Malik ( Chairman RDCA), Vishal Sharma. At the end trophies,medals and refreshment.
Match was officiated by Meenakshi Khajuria, Shahid Bashir and Nazarat Hussain.
