RAJOURI DEC 03:-A Medical Camp cum Health Mela was held today at the Primary Health Center (PHC) Seri, located in the Block Nowshera near the Actual Line of Control (ALC) and surrounding border areas. The event was organized under the guidance of Abhishek Sharma (IAS), District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Dr. Rakesh Magotra, Director of Health Services Jammu, and Dr. Manohar Rana, Chief Medical Officer Rajouri.
Dr. Iqbal Malik, Block Medical Officer, Nowshera, highlighted that the primary objective of the Health Mela was to offer free medical and dental checkups to the locals, facilitate the creation of ABHA IDs, and provide Anaemia Mukt Bharat vaccinations. Additionally, the camp aimed to promote health education by teaching proper handwashing techniques, advancing the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative, and spreading awareness about eradicating diseases such as leprosy.
Dr. Malik also emphasized the importance of raising awareness regarding various health programs, including the benefits of ABHA IDs under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the TB Mukt Bharat mission, and Anaemia Mukt Bharat. The camp aimed to educate the public on health hygiene and the significance of yoga practices to improve overall well-being.
The initiative marks a significant step towards improving healthcare access for people residing in the border areas, offering essential services and promoting public health awareness.
