Gujjar leaders seek official status to Gojri and Pahari Languages.

Jammu, Sept 3 – senior Gujjar leaders have expressed resentment over neglect of Gojri and phari language in the list of official languages of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a joint statement senior Gujjar leaders have strongly resented the move of the union cabinet to ignore the Gojri language in declaring it as one of the official languages of Jammu and Kashmir. Anguish over the decision of union cabinet senior leaders said that it is a matter of concern that most backward communities of the jammu and Kashmir should be given apportnities to improve their culture and languages,the Gojri speaking people’s are the third largest community in jammu and Kashmir after Kashmiri and Dogri. Gojri language is popular language spoken in jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country.senior leaders of the community said that we are always neglected on every field of development, on the one hand govt is promoting the regional languages of jammu and Kashmir, while on the other hand govt is ignoring the frequently spoken Gojri in jammu and Kashmir as official language. onJammu and Kashmir.
These Senior leaders asked the Centre govt and UT administration to immediately undo the Injustice and ensure justice to gojri speaking peoples as the Gujjar and Bakarwal community is residing in every village and town of the jammu and Kashmir and outside the jammu and Kashmir in the country.senior leaders stress that it is democratic right of Gojri and phari speaking peoples to seek redressal of their grievance and due place for their language and inclusion of Gojri and phari languages as official languages of jammu and Kashmir
