Greater Shahr-e-khass Srinagar seeks to address critical issues Which were affecting  communities

SRINAGAR OCT 13:- Residents announce and launch a new socio-political group Greater ‘Shahr-e-khass’ dedicated to advocating for social justice and reform, community empowerment and development.

The youth from the old city of Srinagar and their mission  to unite diverse voices and work towards the development of Shahr-e-khass.Founded by a coalition of community leaders, activists, and concerned citizens, Greater Shahr-e-khass seeks to address critical issues affecting the communities, including economic inequality, electricity bill waivers, healthcare access, overall development of downtown etc.

They believe that positive change starts at the grassroots level and that every individual has the power to contribute to a brighter future. Downtown has been ignored for decades, so far, the governing bodies haven’t been able to create a change on ground level and our objective is to address the issue from the core.

Key Objectives

Advocacy: Champion policies that promote social justice and equity.
Community Engagement: Mobilize citizens through educational programs and outreach initiatives.

Collaboration: Partner with existing organizations and movements to amplify the impact.The official launch event will take place on 13th Oct 24 at Zadi Masjid, Safa Kadal from 3pm. The event will feature guest speakers, interactions and opportunities for attendees to get involved. We invite everyone to join us in this movement for change and to help shape the future of our community.

“We believe that together, we can create a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and flourish,” said Mohammad Faheem Reshi, founder of the group.

“Our goal is to empower individuals and bring a wave of change in downtown which has been ignored for years by the consecutive governments” he added
