GMC&AH Rajouri Undergone Surgery of a Boy Blind suffering from Last 7 years.

RAJOURI APRIL 03 :–A boy blind for last 7 years due to Glaucoma and cataract has undergone surgery today at Associated Hospital GMC Rajouri.

A combined cataract and Trabeculectomy surgery was performed on the basis of 0 expenses out of pocket under AB PMJAY Sehat Scheme by Dr Rajeev Kumar Sharma consultant Opthalmology.

The Trabeculectomy a surgical procedure is being conducted on regular basis now at Associated Hospital GMC Rajouri, where as previously the patients for this surgical intervention were going out to Jammu, Srinagar and Amritsar/Pathankot.

The Opthalmology Department of GMC Rajouri doing commendable job under National Program for Control and Prevention of Blindness (NPCPB) as more than 1400 cataract surgeries and other surgical interventions have been made w.e.f April 2022 to March 2023 by the dedicated team of Doctors comprising of Dr Shazia Qayoom Head department of Opthalmology, A Grade Opthalmologist Dr Jyoti Katoch Consultant Opthalmology Dr Rajeev Kumar Sharma and a skilled team of Technicians/support staff.
