POONCH APRIL 16:-Poonch Premier League – 5th Edition (PPL-5) continues to inspire youth and communities under the noble banners of “Nasha Mukt Bharat,” “My Youth My Pride,” and “Clean India, Green India.” This year’s edition is not merely a celebration of sport, but a heartfelt tribute to the brave martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. Their valor echoes in every shot played and every wicket taken.

Steered under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Pervaiz Malik Afridi (Chief Patron, PPL) and guided by the unwavering vision of Er. Kamran Ahmed Qadri (Chairman, PPL), alongside Mr. Syed Talit Waseem (Managing Head, PPL-5) and committed members Syed Imran Shah, Mr. Pawan Kumar (Mannu), and the entire organizing team, the tournament stands as a beacon of youth empowerment and national pride.

Match No. 4 brought cricketing fervor to a crescendo as Furious Predators clashed with Sankh Qalandars in a match that had both heart and heat.

Batting first, Furious Predators set a challenging tone with a total of 135 for 8. The backbone of their innings was laid by Rydham Sharma, who demonstrated resilience and control with a composed 52 off 49 balls, while Mannu Sharma, the eventual star of the match, unleashed his batting prowess with a quickfire 46 off 28, igniting the middle overs.

The Qalandars’ bowling was spirited, with Sakander Khan putting on a masterclass, scalping 4 wickets in 4 overs, slicing through the batting with finesse. Toheed took 2 wickets, while Nadeem and Laksh Sharma each contributed a dismissal to restrict the score.

Chasing the target, Sankh Qalandars faltered under a disciplined and aggressive bowling attack, collapsing for 81 runs in 15 overs. Usman Pinky (23 off 21) and Deepak Sharma (16 off 23) tried to stabilize the innings, but the rising tide of the Predators’ bowling unit was too strong to withstand.

Karamat struck fear into the Qalandars’ batting line-up with a fiery spell that earned him 4 wickets, matched in ferocity by Mannu Sharma, who added 3 wickets to his all-round performance. Rashid took 2 wickets and Khaliq sealed the innings with 1.

For his stellar display with both bat and ball, Mannu Sharma was rightly crowned Man of the Match—a warrior on the field, embodying the spirit of PPL-5.

The match was graced by the presence of Cheif Guest for the day Mr. Rohit Khajuria (District Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Poonch) and Guest of Honour Mr. Ajaz Siddique. He was presented Shawl and Momentous as a token of Love by Chief Patron PPL Mr. Pervaiz Malik Afridi.
