Jammu January 09 :–A five days long educational cum literacy week awareness camp was held by Global Peace Foundation at village Nagrota to spread the awareness among people especially the poor and inaccessible areas where the drop out rate is high or children aren’t attending the school at all. The foundation organised the five days long educational awareness where villagers and children attended the camp.
The parents of these kids belong to poor families who can’t afford to send their wards to school due to poorty, inaccessiblity to school, transport and other related issues. The volunteers of the foundation conducted the fun classes and learning sessions with these kids following the pendemic protocol.
The kids and their parents were made aware about the importance of education, personal hygiene and also made aware to reach school for which different government schemes are prevalent for poor and downtrodden classes including free education and food.
The foundation furthered the slogan “Aao School Chalein” to arouse the interest of the people and poor kids to enroll themselves in near schools and anganwari centres.
During the camp kids were engaged in fun learning activities,games craft and other literal activities.
On the concluding day a special programme was held to check the response and interest of the children which was highly satisfactory and responsive,said one of the volunteer of the foundation.They said that that foundation will keep on organising such programs to help them in future as well.
During the camp books, bags and stationary was distributed among the kids apart from warm clothes and hygiene kits.
