GDC Mandi organised career counselling session for students

Mandi, February 26:–A career counselling session for students was organised by GDC Mandi on February 26th, 2021. The session was conducted by faculty from University of Delhi and GDC Poonch.
Mr. Inderjeet Singh, former Journalist and current Faculty of Journalism, DSJ, University of Delhi held session on Careers in media. He has been teaching as an Assistant professor at prestigious colleges like Lady Sri Ram college and Maharaja Agrasen college of University of Delhi. Apart from discussing his own experiences in media and enlightening students on how to get into journalism, he emphasized the need of participation of people from J&K in national media. Various courses in media available with different institutions and course structures were also discussed by the invited speaker.Mr. Shahid Zafar, Assistant professor, GDC Poonch, also enlightened students on career options in Economics. He told students about the ever growing demand of economics background candidates in Government as well as Non-governmental sectors. He said, there are various branches in Economics itself where students can do well and get good jobs and packages.
The students participated in the interaction enthusiastically and asked questions related to Media, and Economics careers.According to Dr. Mohammad Azam, Principal GDC Mandi, the session was very fruitful and helped in raising awareness amongst students. He further said that such lectures by eminent faculty from prestigious universities and institutions will also be continued in future. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Aurangzeb Anjum, Associate professor, GDC Mandi.
