The Dhangri village witnessed horrific terror attacks in the late evening hours on January 1, 2022, when a group of 1-2 terrorists entered the village and after checking identity cards of few victims, opened indiscriminate fire at least three houses resulting in the killing of 4 persons on the spot and injuries to few others.

The children killed were identified as Vihan Kumar (4) and Samiksha Devi (14).
When contacted, Sarpanch Dhangri Lowe, Dheeraj Kumar said that no specific program has been planned to pay tribute to Dhangri martyrs on the first anniversary of Dhangri Terror Attack.
Sources said that the management of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Dhangri has organised a ‘Shardhanjali’ event at the residence of deceased Pritam Lal, who along with his son Shiv Pal were killed by the terrorists after checking Pritam’s ID card.
“Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal along with other officers is likely to join the tribute ceremony at Dhangri on the 1st anniversary of the terrorist attack,” said Saroj Bala.
Saroj Bala has lost her two sons namely Deepak & Prince in the terror attack.
She is continuously leading major protests demanding justice for the seven innocent people of Dhangri village who have given their lives for the integrity of the country.
She is also demanding construction of a memorial in the memory of seven martyrs at Dhangri Chowk or in its vicinity.
On Friday during his visit to Dhangri, the Deputy Commissioner visited 2-3 spots for the construction of the memorial, but the site has not been finalized yet. If the Administration fails to identify any site, we will donate our land” said Saroj Bala.
Saroj Bala also expressed her resentment over delay in delivering justice to the victims of Dhangri attack.
“One year have already passed since the terror attack but we are still waiting for justice” said Saroj Bala.
“We have been hearing that the case has almost been solved, but there is no confirmed trace of militants involved in the attacks. Even those who facilitated the attacks by providing logistics to militants are yet to be identified,” Saroj Bala alleged.
