JAMMU DECM, 12:-Traffic Police Rural Jammu has taken swift action against a bus driver after a viral social media video showed him driving recklessly with passengers on board, reportedly including students travelling for a picnic on Mughal Road near Chandimarg.
The video, which sparked widespread concern, showed the driver repeatedly taking his hands off the steering wheel and dancing while the bus was in motion, endangering the lives of passengers and causing panic among the public.
Acting promptly, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu ordered an inquiry through DTI Poonch. The investigation identified the vehicle and confirmed the involvement of the driver in stunt driving. Following this, Traffic Police Rural Jammu registered action under Sections 3/181/184/207 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The bus, bearing registration number JK12C-9247, was also seized for dangerous driving violations.
The findings were shared with SSP Poonch, who directed Police Station Surankote to register FIR No. 284/2025 under Sections 281/125 BNS read with 184 MV Act. The driver, identified as Ramzan Ali, a resident of Dharagloon, Mendhar, District Poonch, has been arrested for further investigation.
SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, Farooq Qaiser, urged the public to remain vigilant and report any illegal or dangerous driving practices that may pose a threat to public safety. He assured that strict action will be taken against all violators in accordance with the law.
