RAJOURI DECEMBER 21 :–A huge crowd yesterday witnessed the final match of Gabber Premier League Cricket Tournament 2023 being organized by the Gabber Cricket Fraternity at Gabber in which 16 teams participated in the tournament. Ms Dar communication was the main sponsor of this tournament.
The final match was won by Old is Gold cricket team by defeating team Gabber Warriors. The winning team was awarded with Trophy and cash prize of Rs 15000 and Runner Up team was given Trophy and cash prize of Rs 8000.
Man of the Series award was given to Mr Abid Sheikh while as Mr Ramneek Singh was awarded man of the Match.
Chief Guest of the day Major Sorav Bhatia of 33-RR, Guests of honor Mr Farooq Inqlabi, Sarpanch Shabir Kamlak, Insp Pradeep Kumar CRPF, Arshad Mir, Waqar Lone, gave away the trophies and cash prizes to winning and runner up team. Major Sorav Bhatia congratulated both the teams for making into the finals and entertaining the cricket lovers by their game.
Reiterating the government’s commitment in up-gradation of sports infrastructure in the state, Farooq Inqlabi said that various initiatives have been taken in this regard and every possible step is being taken to encourage the youth in taking participation in sports activities.
He said that such tournaments are helping the budding cricketers in getting a platform to display their sport talent. Farooq Inqlabi said that Department of Youth Services & Sports should start process of identifying the talent among the youth in far flung areas and provide them specialized coaching to further excel at national and international level.

Farooq Inqlabi said that the youth from Budhal has immense talent which only needs proper training/coaching and JK Sports Council & Sports Department should take care of it. He demanded immediate construction of a play ground at Budhal.

On the occasion, Sarpanch Rajnagar Mr Shabir Kamlak also felicitated the young budding cricketers and wished them best for their future. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers for organizing the tournament and giving opportunity to the players.
Social Activist Waqar Lone said that sports can help youngsters to improve their self-esteem. Individuals feel a sense of accomplishment and success when they compete with others and do well. This contributes to their overall personality development which helps them face other challenges of life.
Meanwhile Arshad Mir thanked all the guests, participating teams, J&K Police, Army, CRPF and organising committee members.
