BUDHAL DECM 31:-FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh (JKL) today extended its Menstrual Hygiene Drive to the far-flung area of Budhal in District Rajouri, reaffirming its commitment to women’s health, dignity, and well-being. The initiative follows the successful implementation of similar drives across Jammu, Kathua, and Samba.
Under the leadership of its Chairperson, Ms. Aarti Chowdhary, FICCI FLO JKL believes that women’s health is foundational to their meaningful participation in nation-building. In line with this vision, an Awareness-cum-Free Sanitary Napkin Distribution Camp was organised today at Village Kewal, Budhal Block of Rajouri District.

The camp witnessed the participation of more than 100 females, who were provided detailed awareness on menstrual hygiene, healthy practices, and the importance of breaking social taboos. The awareness session was conducted by ARSH Counsellor Ms. Vishiv Kiriti from the Health Department, PHC Budhal, who sensitively addressed the participants and answered their queries.

The programme was implemented in collaboration with The Unati Agri Allied and Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society Ltd. (UAMMCL) and the Jammu & Kashmir Dairy Cooperative Federation Limited (JKDCF) under the leadership of Shri Vikrant Dogra. As part of the initiative, 2,100 sanitary napkins were handed over to Ms. Naseema Bano Chouhan, CEO of The Budhal Walnut and Horti Producers Cooperative Ltd., a Farmer Producers Organisation (FPO) based in Budhal.

The drive was carried out with the active support of the Directors of The Budhal Walnut and Horti Producers Cooperative Ltd., ensuring effective outreach and strong community participation.

This initiative is aligned with FICCI FLO’s national collaboration with NIINE, under which 2,50,000 sanitary napkins are being distributed across India through 21 FICCI FLO chapters.

Local women leaders, including Ms. Naseema Bano Chouhan, CEO of The Budhal Walnut and Horti Producers Cooperative Ltd., expressed their appreciation and gratitude to FICCI FLO JKL Chairperson Ms. Aarti Chowdhary, Ms. Varuna Anand, Vice Chairperson Ms. Varsha Bansal, and Ms. Sona Mehta for their sustained efforts and support towards promoting women’s health and hygiene in remote areas.

The Menstrual Hygiene Drive at Budhal marks a significant step towards empowering women and girls to prioritise their health with dignity, confidence, and awareness.
